Fresh improvements to our bank connecting process
We're excited to announce that we've rolled out an update that makes it easier and faster for users to connect multiple accounts during the linking process. Not only does this streamline the process, but it also helps to reduce the number of "login required" messages that users receive.
These updates are already live, and you'll see them the next time you open the add-on.
To clarify, if you've already connected multiple accounts at the same institution, you don't need to make any changes unless you're experiencing issues.
One of the benefits of this new linking process is that it reduces the need for frequent reauthorization requests. We've noticed that some institutions, such as Chase and U.S. Bank, prefer to only have one link established per user, rather than one per account. This can result in users having to reauthorize their accounts every few days. Working with our partners at Plaid, we've implemented this new linking process to significantly reduce these authorization requests.
If you'd like to update your connections to use this new linking process, it's easy to do. Simply remove all but one connection per institution, then run the "Add or remove connection" process from the institution's dropdown menu and select the accounts you'd like to connect. During this process, you'll see your initial balances reimported, but you can delete them without any issues. We recommend keeping a close eye on your transactions over the next few days to ensure everything stays in sync and no transactions are missed. Once you've done that, you're all set!
